Alexander Crutchfield (born December 12, 1958) is an American businessman, investor and investor.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, the fifth-generation Arizonan, he earned a BA in African History, Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College as a Distinguished Scholar and recipient of the CMC Student Citizen Award. He holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is a member of Mensa.

Careers
Crutchfield founded American Water Development Inc. (AWDI) with Maurice Strong, Robert O. Anderson, David R. Williams, Jr., and Samuel Belzberg, and served as Vice Chairman. AWDI launched its first attempt to create a large-scale private water development project in the Western United States. Other board members include William D. Ruckelshaus and Richard D. Lamm. This project, however, failed to obtain regulatory or legal approval.
He also serves as Vice Chairman of First Colorado Corporation, a private company that acquires and develops more than 500,000 acres (2,000 km 2 ) of land and mineral rights in seven western states.
He also founded Oasis Partners, an investment and advisory company. Mitra's partners originate, structure and invest in opportunities in real estate and private equity, focusing on US and UK Real Estate, China and India. He served as Chairman of the Griffin Capital Advisory Board in London.
He is an expert on Middle East Energy issues and is often a speaker and contributor to these issues, especially in Qatar.
