The National Cancer Center of Singapore (Abbreviation: NCCS ) is the country's national specialty center for cancer diagnosis, research and treatment. The center has the largest concentration of "international oncologists" in Singapore. It was originally established in 1993 as a unit of Singapore General Hospital. but is now an autonomous institution owned by Singapore Healthcare Services.
Led by Professor Soo Khee Chee, NCCS provides a range of medical, educational and research activities within an institution; and practicing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. The Center, located at Outram Medical Campus, is the only multidisciplinary sub-specialist center in Southeast Asia.
In addition, the Center is a teaching institute for post-graduate cancer education that trains and offers scholarships for many local and foreign doctors, nurses, medical professionals and researchers.
