Islamorada is a village incorporated in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It is located on five islands - Tea Table Key, Matecumbe Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Window Key and Plantation Key - in Florida Keys.

Name Islamorada ( Spanish pronunciation: Ã, ['izla mo'? AÃÆ' à ° a] ), meaning "Island House", originated from early Spanish explorers in the area. Sometimes it goes by the nickname "Purple Isle", because morada can also mean purple .
Islamorada was hit almost immediately by the Labor Day Storm of 1935, causing 423 deaths. A warning, including ashes of more than 300 casualties, exists today on Overseas Highway mile marker 82.
Hall of Famer baseball player Ted Williams started visiting Islamorada in 1943 and for the next 45 years was the most famous islander. After retiring from baseball he became the national spokesman for Sears sportswear, and became famous for his ability as a fisherman.. For decades, he hosted many celebrities at Islamorada's home and took them on a local fishing trip.
The village was founded on November 4, 1997. Prior to this date, "Islamorada" refers to the island community that evolved from Upper Matecumbe Key.
At the 2010 census, the village had a total population of 6,119. In 2009, the population recorded by the US Census Bureau was 6,435.

According to the US Census Bureau, the village has a total area of ââ7.2 square miles (19 km 2 ), of which 7.1 square miles (18 km 2 ) is ground and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km 2 ) (1.93%) is water.
Islamorada is located about 1.5 hours driving time south of Miami and about 2 hours driving time to Northeast Key West.
Islamorada lies about 19 miles southwest of John Pennekamp Coral Reef.

Demographics
At the 2010 census, there were 6,119 people, 2,882 households, and 1,673 families living in the village. Population density was 838.2 souls per square mile (325.4/km ò). There are 5,692 units of homes with an average density of 767.7 per square mile (296.6/km²). Village racial makeup is 96.54% White, 0.72% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Island, 0.69% of other races, and 0.96 % of two or more races. Hispanic or Latin of any race is 9.63% of the population.
There are 2,882 households where 17.04% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.13% are married couples living together, 5.76% have female households without husbands, and 41.95% are not family. 31.78% of all households are individual and 33.24% have a single person living alone 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.07 and the average family size was 2.57.
In the village, the population is spread by 13.86% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 35.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% years or more. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females, there are 112.6 males. For every 100 women age 18 and over, there are 112.2 men.
The average income for households in the village is $ 41,522, and the average income for families is $ 56,118. Men have an average income of $ 31,339 compared to $ 25,670 for women. The per capita income for the village is $ 29,519. 6.9% of the population and 3.5% of families are below the poverty line. Of the total people living in poverty, 7.0% are under 18 and 4.5% are 65 years of age or older.

Much of the action in the Netflix Bloodline series takes place in and around Islamorada:
- In the first episode of season 1, Islamorada was the Academy Bus stop where John Rayburn was scheduled to pick up his brother Danny, and the station where John stopped Danny shortly thereafter. In both cases, the bus is a shiny clean Academy Bus. In episode 11, John pushes Danny to a bus stop in Islamorada again, and Danny ends up on a rotted and bloodied bus of Sunnyside Coaches.
- John and his sister girlfriend, Marco Diaz, both detectives at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department; "Regency of Islamorada" can be seen label their police boat.
- In season 2, episode 6 (Part 19), Diana ran in Park Founder of Islamorada when she found the tire flat; Danny's partner, Ozzie Delveccio, happened to be nearby and changed his tires, leaving his fingerprints on the set. John noted the tires had been cut neatly, running the mold, and confirmed the connection between Ozzie and Danny.
- In season 2, episode 7 (Part 20), Meg tells Marco that Sarah is drowning in Whale Harbor, a very famous harbor in Islamorada.
