Jordin Brianna Sparks (born December 22, 1989) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. On September 17, 2009, Sparks took part in a special VH1 Divas, a concert created to support the Save the Music Foundation. The concert was held at the Brooklyn Music Academy in New York where Sparks featured the second single from his Battlefield album, S.O.S. (Let Play Music), as well as "A Broken Wing" with Martina McBride. In February 2010, Sparks was one of many artists who contributed to "We Are the World 25 for Haiti", a charity for the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Sparks teamed up with the creator and designer Pennyroyal Silver, Tim Foster, to create design its own necklace for the company's signature collection. On July 28, 2011, Sparks performed a surprise concert live in Times Square. Sparks was crowned as "VH1 Save The Music Foundation Ambassador" in 2011. It was announced on November 9, 2011, that Sparks will be titled as 'Vh1 Save the Music Ambassador' again for 2012. Sparks joined by his colleague American Idol contestants Chris Daughtry, Lupe Fiasco, Katy Perry and others. During the Sparks segment as ambassador he organized a series of surprise concerts in Times Square. Sparks and VH1 give fans the chance to submit an essay on 'What's Means to Music to You?'. The winners of the essay contest won a trip for two, to New York City to stand next to Sparks at his pop-up concert. The chosen winner is Deavan Ebersole, from Hagerstown, Maryland.
Sparks also showed support for Little Kids Rock, a national nonprofit organization that works to restore and revitalize music education in disadvantaged US public schools by donating items for auction to raise money for the organization.
I'm mad? campaign
Initiated by Jordin and his younger brother P.J. in 2008, I am M.A.D. Do you? campaigns foster community advocacy and volunteerism among adolescents and young adults. CRAZY. stands for Making A Difference. The campaign does this by encouraging young adults to find a problem they like, perhaps even a little "crazy" about, and then channeling their energy to change it. Since its launch in 2009, I am M.A.D. Do you? has inspired hundreds of thousands of teenagers through social media and community service events across the country. The campaign also provides grants for service projects started by youth ranging from clothing drives to homeless to international mission trips. Future plans for me M.A.D. Do you? including starting M.A.D. clubs in schools and organizing camps to equip young adults with community organizing and advocacy skills.
On February 3, 2010, Sparks and David Archuleta performed at "Jordin Sparks Experience", held at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. All proceeds collected by the event go to a number of charities, including the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation. The next day, Sparks and Archuleta send a teddy bear to the children in the hospital. Since 2008, Sparks and his campaign, "I'm Mad Are You" travel to a city designated by the Super Bowl to hold a one-week charity event, to raise money for some charities. In June 2010, the "Thumbs Up to X the TXT" campaign campaign, founded by "The Allstate Corporation", traveled to Sparks's Battlefield Tour, presented by Mike & amp; Ike to encourage teens and their families not to send messages while driving. Fans at the Sparks concert make an appointment not to send messages and drive by adding their thumbprints to the travel banners on each show. The campaign begins at Sparks's Battlefield Tour on June 3, 2010, and ends on July 18, 2010. Sparks is the main spokesperson for "I'm M.A.D., Are You?" campaign. He also supports Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, which helps raise money for children with cancer. Sparks moved to Louisiana in June 2010 to visit the Gulf of Mexico oil spill with the Audubon Society to see the effects of oil spills on wildlife and swamps. Sparks is also a member of the National Youth Youth Committee for the Hundred Years Celebration of Ronald Reagan, along with Nick Jonas, Genevieve Ryan, and Brodi Conover.
Jordin Sparks experience has been held in cities such as Glendale, Arizona, Tampa, Florida, Miami, Florida, Dallas, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana, New Orleans, Louisiana, New York, New York, Scottsdale, Arizona and San Francisco, California. In 2017, Sparks organized the 10th Annual Jordin Sparks Experience in Houston, Texas.
