Skate4Cancer is the foundation founded by Rob Dyer after losing the many people he loves about cancer. The main idea behind Skate4Cancer is that the cure is knowledge. They show you how to prevent cancer so you can catch it early and hopefully become cancer free as soon as possible.
In 2004, Dyer slid more than 8000 miles from his hometown of Newmarket, Ontario to Los Angeles, California. Just four months before his skate, Rob lost his father's grandmother to stomach cancer. Before she knew it, her maternal grandmother died of brain cancer. After losing the two most important women in her life, her world turned upside down when she lost her mother, Wendy, to brain cancer. Not that, just before he left with his skates, he lost his best friend to stomach cancer. There are many obstacles but Rob and S4C team finish the skate in 5 months.
In 2008, Rob decided he would do skate cross country. This time focus on Canada. He left Vancouver, BC in June and in 4 days he was already in the Rocky Mountains. They finish their second skate at the end of November night in Halifax, NS.
Rob and the team leave for New Zealand and Australia in early 2010. They finish all New Zealand in no time and go to Australia for their second skate leg. Almost in Adelaide, Rob is the side swiped by the car while skating one afternoon. She managed to get up and walk a bit to get cell phone service so she could call the van to pick her up. Soon, he went to the doctor and examined it, only to be told that he had a groin injury that would take 4 to 6 weeks to heal and that was not even knowing the severity of the injury. After a long thought process, Rob decided that it was better for him to return to Canada to heal and that they would finish their skates in the new year. Rob eventually skated a total of 3667 km before returning home.
Dyer and the team are set to start the French skate on June 21, 2011.
In 2011, with help from West49, Skate4Cancer/DreamLoveCure was able to collect over $ 100,000. through the sale of the S4C T-shirt, to Wellspring.ca to help families dealing with cancer.

They keep leaflets about breast exams themselves, stop smoking and other ways to prevent cancer.
In 2009, Ashley Kirilow, a woman who shaved her head, plucked her eyebrows and starved herself to appear as a chemotherapy patient, convincing Rob and team to fly her to Disney World to spend time with her hero Rob Dyer. Many newspapers showed the collage of a pre-hinted image of Kirilow, next to a bald Kirilow image, with eyebrows and picked eyebrows, indicating the length of where the specified hoaxster would go, to seek sympathy. Skate4Cancer sends a statement that says "For your peace of mind, Skate4Cancer has no formal or informal affiliation for Change For A Cure No joint events or fundraising initiatives.Skate4Cancer's involvement with Ms. Kirilow is based solely on the accomplishment of what the organization is believed to be the legitimate final wish of a severely ill individual.
