Northwell Health , founded in 1997, is a non-profit health care network that includes about 20 hospitals, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Feinstein Medical Research Institute, a center for emergency medical services , rehabilitation and nursing facilities, home care networks, home care networks and progressive care centers offering a wide range of outpatient services. It was formerly called North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and changed its name in 2015.
Headquartered in New Hyde Park, New York, by 2015 Northwell Health is New York State's largest integrated health system, based on patient income, and the 14th largest healthcare system in the United States and with some 60,000 employees, it is the largest a private employer in New York State.
