The Medical Innovation Tag (informally called Saatchi Bill ) is a private member bill sponsored by Maurice Saatchi regarded by the Royal Parliament. If passed into law, the bill will allow doctors to use unconventional medical treatment under certain circumstances.
The bill proposal was criticized by medical agencies, and failed to advance through the House of Commons after the Liberal Democrats refused to support him.

After the death of his wife Josephine Hart for ovarian cancer, Maurice Saatchi campaigned to change the UK legislation which he believes held doctor back from recommending innovative treatments for fear of litigation. Saatchi says that he believes that the provision of healthcare in Britain is "rejecting innovation" and that the current standard care offered to people with cancer is "degrading, medieval and ineffective" leading "only to death".
The Saatchi Medical Innovation Bill proposes that doctors be allowed to use non-standard care for any medical condition. The bill was formally introduced in 2013 and adopted by the government through its share through parliament.

Response
The proposed law enjoys some popular support and favorable press coverage, but draws critical responses from several medical and legal bodies, patient groups and charities.
An editorial at The Lancet Oncology says that Saatchi promotes "precisely the kind of emotional response sought by evidence-based practice to avoid", that British law is now available for medical innovation, and that legislation these provisions threaten to undermine the hippocratic oath.
The British Cancer Research says there is "no urgent need" for the new law.
In November 2014, more than 100 medical professionals signed a letter to The Times saying that existing legislation did not preclude innovation as claimed, and that the proposed new law could have consequences is undesirable because it weakens the evidence. the basis for research with leads to accumulation is only anecdotal evidence.
Some doctors, patients, and charities look good in the bill. In June 2014 a number of doctors and patients wrote letters to the Daily Telegraph to support the bill.
