The King Hussein Cancer Foundation-Governing Body (Foundation) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2001 by the Royal Decree to combat cancer in Jordan and the Middle East region.

The Foundation is managed by a Supervisory Board consisting of volunteers headed by HRH Princess Ghida Talal.

Foundation is a legal umbrella organization that is responsible for:

1) The Hussein Cancer Foundation - Fundraising, Advocacy and Development (KHCF). KHCF is Jordan's largest community-based organization dedicated to combating cancer. KHCF's work focuses on fundraising and development, global advocacy, public awareness on early detection and prevention, cancer coverage and patient support. KHCF is headed by General Director Nisreen Qatamish.

2) King Hussein Cancer Center - Comprehensive & Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Research (KHCC). KHCC is a leading cancer center in the Middle East region that provides adult patients and children with comprehensive cancer care for all types of cancer. It is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) as the center of certain cancers, making it the first and only center in the developing world to get that difference. KHCC is lead by Dr. Asem Mansour- CEO/Director General.

On behalf of His Excellency King Hussein, who was late from Jordan, the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) was established in 2001 to provide the most advanced cancer care for every Jordanian and every Arab.

After a remarkable 17 years, KHCC shines as the only stand-alone, comprehensive, internationally accredited cancer center in the Middle East. Treating about 7,000 new cancer cases each year, KHCC has become a lifeline for thousands of cancer patients seeking cancer treatment from across the Kingdom and region.

The center provides services on a total area of ​​108,700 square meters, including 352 beds, 13 operating rooms, 36 intensive care units, and receives 7,000 new cases per year. The number of entries is 14,000 per year, outpatient visits are 250,000 annually, 300 bone marrow transplants per year with levels of success comparable to those achieved globally.

From its inception until June 2017, King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) offers comprehensive cancer care treatments to 52,557 cancer patients from Jordan and the Arab world. The King Hussein Cancer Center consists of 3 buildings, 2 new buildings inaugurated in September 2017 including the construction of inpatient and outpatient towers that double the capacity of the center and provide an improved integrated space for patient care, research and education.

This new, technologically advanced facility allows this center to become the premier medical center in the Middle East for comprehensive cancer care and treatment.

13 storey inpatient towers have:

o 179 additional patient beds (one occupancy room). o Extended Imaging and Radiotherapy Diagnostic Unit. o Extended Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. o Adult Special ICU and Pediatrician. o The special floor is dedicated to the pediatric ward. o The dedicated floor is dedicated to the adult patient's ward.

The 10 floor outpatient building has:

o The first public cable bank in Jordan. o Khalid Shoman Education and Auditorium Center. This comprehensive educational center includes a skills lab, a seminar room, a doctor's library and an interactive social space. o Special spaces for women and children, including the Women's Health Center and extensive pediatric sections to cope with the increasing number of child cancer cases. o Current Cell Therapy and Department of Applied Genomics, including advanced stem cell laboratories to enhance the research capacity of the Center.

KHCC is the only center in Jordan that houses 240 internationally qualified oncologists and consultants, and a team of 2,500 administrative and medical care specialists, all under one roof. In addition, it is the only center in Jordan that has a team of over 600 nurses who are specially trained in oncology nursing.

Accreditation

1) Joint Commission International (JCI (Accredited KHCC accepts certain accreditations from IHSG, as a disease-specific cancer center, making KHCC the only cancer center outside the United States to be awarded the Joint Commission International Clinical Care Certificate Program (CCPC). for the Oncology Program.

2) Accreditation The College of American Pathologists (CAP) The Department of Pathology and the Medical Laboratory of KHCC obtain international accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This accreditation recognizes the extraordinarily high quality of KHCC pathology and laboratory services. The honor is given to the Center for making the first KHCC in Jordan and only the fifth in the Arab World to achieve such accreditation and affirming that the KHCC laboratory meets and exceeds regulatory requirements, resulting in the highest accuracy of laboratory results.

3) Accreditation of the American Nursing Center (ANCC) KHCC Training Center has been accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This accreditation is a testament to the very high standard of KHCC training, directed at providing nurses with comprehensive educational programs to develop their skills to better serve their patients.

Bone and Stem Cell Transplant Program

With the inauguration of the new KHCC building, the annual capacity of The Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation reaches 300 transplants annually. Since the establishment of the program, more than 700 transplants have been performed. It is one of the largest and most successful programs in the Middle East, achieving a cure rate comparable to international standards. It monitors suitable allogene and autologous transplants. The KHCC BMT program transplants using umbilical cord blood, making it the only program in Jordan and the second in the region to offer very specific procedures.
