The Hippocrates Health Institute (HHI) is a nonprofit organization in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA, originally founded in 1956 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, by Viktoras Kulvinskas born in Lithuania and Ann Wigmore.
The Hippocrates Institute of Health is controversial because it gives patients false hopes about treating cancer with an unproven and unreasonable "natural" method despite claims to the contrary.
In February and March 2015, a ceger-and-break order was issued to co-directors Brian and Anna-Maria Clement, both representing themselves as doctors, requiring them to immediately stop unlicensed medical practice. The Florida Department of Health officially informed Hippocrates Health Institute that they have withdrawn and refused Cease and Desist orders placed on HHI co-directors Brian Clement on February 10 and Anna Maria Gehns-Clement on February 25.
Brian Clement and his institute have been directly criticized for promoting a number of ineffective treatments, including those claimed to "reverse" cancer and multiple sclerosis, which means practicing quackery and committing health fraud. A former institute staff member has filed a lawsuit against Brian Clement for being dismissed after raising concerns about ethical errors in treating patients at the center.
