Thomas Gerald Underwood (22 Desember 1953 - 22 November 2010) adalah pitcher untuk Philadelphia Phillies (1974-77), St. Louis Cardinals (1977), Toronto Blue Jays (1978-79) , New York Yankees (1980-81), Oakland Athletics (1981-83) dan Baltimore Orioles (1984).
He helped the Phillies win the East League of 1976 and 1977 East Division, the Yankees won the 1980 East American League Division and 1981 AL Pennant and Athletics won the 1981 AL Western Division.
In 11 seasons he has a 86-87 tournament record, appearing in 379 games, starting 203 games, 35 complete matches, registered six shutouts, incised 68 complete matches and 18 saves. During his career, Underwood threw 1,586 innings. He gave up 1,554 hits, 772 runs, 685 runs, 130 home runs, 662 runs, 948 strikeouts, 28 hit batsmen and 62 wild pitches. He faced 6,814 batters and surrendered 38 deliberate streets, 12 balk and enrolled a 3.89 ERA career.
In 1978, Underwood elected a remarkable Blue Jays pitcher.
His brother, Pat Underwood, also plays in the majors, mostly for the Detroit Tigers.
Underwood died on November 22, 2010, from pancreatic cancer. His son, J.D., was designed by Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB Design.
