Richard Lublin entered his part-time acting career in 1995 after retiring from 32 years of active legal practice. Initial career

After graduating from Cornell Law School, Richard Lublin was accepted at the Ohio State Bar Association in 1964 and the Connecticut Bar Association in 1965. He was accepted to practice before the US District Court of Connecticut in 1969, US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. in 1975 and the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in 1975. Lublin was a founding partner of the leading Connecticut law firm, based in East Hartford and Avon, Conn. He retired from active legal practice in 1995.

Richard Lublin returned to the undergraduate alma mater, Duke University, as a guest lecturer in law from 1990-1995. He was a member of the Duke University Advisory Board from 1988-194.

Philanthropy

In 1993 Lublin founded the Richard K. Lublin Teaching Award as one of the four awarded teaching awards presented annually in Trinity College of Arts & amp; Science. The Lublin Award recognizes the superiority of undergraduate teaching in all educational and research programs in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences at Duke University. Many of Lublin's philanthropic activities have been devoted to cancer and medical research. She and her late wife Jane contributed significantly to support cancer treatment and research at Carole Cancer Center and Ray Neag at UConn Health. According to the UConn Foundation 2010 report, the couple's prizes "will support the work of leading clinical scientists including Upendra Hegde, M.D.", a director of the medical oncology association in the melanoma program.
