Unlimited age (also known as unlimited extension or bio-infinite) is a term used in the extension of life and transhumanism to refer to the hypothetical longevity of man (and other life forms) under conditions at aging is effective and completely preventable and treatable. Their lifespan will be "unlimited" (that is, they will not be "eternal"), because protection from the effects of aging on health does not guarantee survival. Such people will still be vulnerable to death from illness, famine, accident, or intentional murder, but not death from aging. Semantically, "unlimited age" is more accurate than "immortality" which, especially in the context of religion, implies the inability to die.

Long escaping speed

The speed of escaping longevity is a term used in the life extension movement. This is a hypothetical situation where life expectancy is increasing faster than the time it takes. For example, in a particular year where the speed of escaping longevity will be maintained, technological advances will increase the life expectancy over the year it takes by passing.

Not immortality

The terms "immortality" and "eternal youth" are often used as a synonym for "unlimited periods", but they carry connotations from other contexts that are considered impossible by science. That is, immortal means "unable to die". Eternal implies the existence of being assured for immortality, and in this context also does not make sense because of entropy. Even if drugs are found for all degenerative diseases, and effective treatments are developed for all aging processes, so that the body can be maintained as easily as cars can be repaired, people will still be killed in accidents, killed in wars, choosing to die, etc.

The unlimited period represents a more achievable state, because it simply means freedom from death by aging or weakness.

The use of the term is also sometimes favored for linguistic aesthetic reasons, in the same way that the term birth control is preferred over " birth prevention " or " birth elimination " which both imply , like 'immortality', that its choice is only one time and has permanent consequences. While the point of 'unlimited age', like the point of 'birth control', is getting a chance to live a person's life in a more conscious and deliberate way.

Probability

This question is twofold. On the one hand it can be interpreted as, "Will healing (or an effective treatment program) for aging ever be developed?" while on the other it could mean "Will effective aging treatments become available fast enough for those living today to take advantage of them?" The answer to the first question depends on medical progress: if medical science continues to advance in the field of biogerontology and biotechnology, then some people hope the answer is "yes, it will happen in the end, unless some event or series of events is to prevent further progress from science biology "( see Risks to civilization, human and planet Earth and Clock of Hours). Many scientists who examine this area currently disagree. They see the problem not only of individual diseases but in the failure of the improvement mechanisms mentioned above in the discussion of thermodynamic considerations.

While science is advancing and technology is becoming more sophisticated, human bodies and minds only develop very slowly, and the aging process does not, at that time, become more destructive ( which, in a nutshell, is why we live on average three times longer in the 21st century as we did ten thousand years before ).

The answer to the second question depends on two factors: the first how fast progress of medical science, and the second is how well everyone takes care of itself (like using the best life counseling technology available or not, and generally eat and behave in a healthy and non-degrading manner), both of which can influence whether the person given is alive when healing (or a series of treatments) becomes available. This strategy was taken in the subtitle of "Live Long Enough to Live Forever" from the life extension of Fantastic Voyage by Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman.

The second factor for the second question depends on the first factor - no amount of healthy living will allow a person to live today to reach an infinite age point if medicine is significantly limited, or if aging turns out to be more massively massive than it is believed to be today.. However, if biomedical gerontology continues to improve, if somatic genetic engineering becomes safe and effective (and not prohibited by opponents) in relatively close proximity, it may be conceivable for some of those living to achieve unlimited lifespan.

According to biogerontologist Marios Kyriazis, the infinite life span will become possible (even inevitable) because of the inherent nature of the laws of nature that govern human evolution. Kyriazis believes that as human beings are enhanced by technology, human evolution by natural selection will be redundant, and humans will continue to evolve through an infinite process of self-development. This process will require the elimination of death from aging.

Technique proposed

Strategies for the Ignored Senjesens Technique are the proposed research programs for repairing all kinds of age-related damage.

Calorie restrictions have been presented as part of the puzzle to achieve the actuarial escape velocity. Other proposed techniques include genetic engineering, telomere extension, organ regeneration, nanotechnology, and even mind uploading.

In theory that the main cause of aging is DNA damage [see the theory of DNA damage to aging and DNA damage (naturally occurring)], there are basically two ways to reduce DNA damage in cells, thereby allowing an indefinite extension of time.. This is:

  1. Prevents DNA damage, and
  2. Fixed the DNA damage after it happened.

There is much literature on antioxidant phytochemicals that reduce the occurrence of oxidative DNA damage. However, when intervention trials were conducted using these antioxidants as dietary and cancer supplements as endpoints, the results generally proved disappointing.

On the other hand, there seems to be evidence that certain food components stimulate DNA damage repair, and protect against cancer as an end point. One is chlorogenic acid, the main component, and can be absorbed from, coffee. Coffee is protective against colorectal cancer, and chlorogenic acid and its metabolites increase the level of protein expression from two DNA repair enzymes: Pms2 and PARP. Another compound that protects against the early stages of cancer is naringenin, an orange flavonoid. Naringenin has been shown to increase the level of mRNA expression of two DNA repair enzymes, DNA poles beta and OGG1.
